King Contractors have been providing specialist advice for all contracting and plant-hire needs since 1981. Accreditation, codes of conduct and regulations are key to the high-quality service that we deliver across Scotland to the commercial, domestic and public sectors.
We are proud to be accredited by the following schemes, bodies and organisations.
“CHAS is one of the founders of third party accreditation. We are not only a trusted advisor on health & safety compliance, we are an authority. We set industry benchmarks, provide assurance and reassurance, and offer best-in-class services that are easy to use and cost effective.”
“Constructionline is the UK’s most connected and progressive provider of procurement and supply chain management services, making contracting simpler and helping our customers achieve more.
“In September 2017, we introduced two new levels of Constructionline accreditation, designed to accommodate the broadening needs of both suppliers and buyers in a one stop shop for Third Party Governance & Risk Management.”
“Founded in 1996, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency’s main role is to protect the environment and human health. We do this by regulating activities that can cause pollution and by monitoring the quality of Scotland’s air, land and water. SEPA is a non-departmental public body, accountable through Scottish Ministers to the Scottish Parliament.”
The UK has always strived to promote equality in the workplace. Through the years there have been different statutory bodies that dealt with specific aspects of discrimination. The Equal Opportunities Commission was established to tackle the issue of sex discrimination. The Disability Rights Commission focused on issues related to disability discrimination and the Commission for Racial Equality dealt with race discrimination.
We are ISO 9001 Registered with BMTRADA:
“This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001:2015 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good quality products and services, which in turn brings many business benefits.”
As members of this scheme King Contractors are authorised under National Highway Sector Scheme 16 (NHSS) to carry out highway works whether they are trunk or motorway surfacing for laying asphalt mixes.
National Highways Sector Schemes are bespoke integrated management schemes within an ISO 9001:2000 framework. Developed in partnership with all sides of the highways industry, they interpret the international quality management standard as it applies to a particular activity or industry within the United Kingdom.
We are committed to providing the highest standards of training. As part of this commitment, we ensure that all our operatives hold a valid CSCS card. A number of staff are also trained in plant operation and hold valid CPCS cards.
Staff and Operatives approved under the New Roads & Streetworks Act.
